Cape Spice Experience

Uniquely Cape, East West cuisine fusion

Cape Spice Experience

Cape Malay cuisine is unique to the Western Cape, and food lovers are invited to explore and experience this traditional style of cooking. The experience starts off with a talk on spices, followed by a cooking demonstration. Guests are then treated to a traditional three course meal and a spice pack to take home. Additional spices and culinary products are also on sale.

Cape Malay cuisine is renowned for its aromatic, fruity, mild and full-bodied flavours, and is a fusion between Malaysian, Indonesian, East African and Dutch cooking styles. It is inherently part of the Western Cape culture and heritage, especially among the Muslim population of Cape Town.

The menu includes:
A welcome drink (coffee, tea, fruit juice or soft drink)
A starter consisting of soup and a variety of snacks
The main course is a choice of chicken or lamb curry, served with Roti and flavoured rice. Also included are both onion and green salads.
Desert options include a variety of winter or summer deserts.
