Kayamandi on Foot

This walking adventure starts and ends at the Ikhaya Trust Centre in Kayamandi, where you will meet your local resident guide, receive a historic briefing on the area. The journey sets off on foot in a circular route, weaving through shacks and visiting participating community shops, businesses, schools and attractions. The walk is not strenuous but comfortable shoes and a hat are essential.

What’s Excluded
  • Transport to the Ikhaya Trust Centre where the tour starts. To arrange transport please click here
  • Refreshments. It is recommended that you bring water along. Refreshments can be purchased at spaza shops along the way.
  • Any additional purchased along the route. It is advised to bring cash along for the purchase of refreshments, crafts and clothing for sale on the route. Buying from the various informal busi-nesses on the route directly stimulates the economy of Khayamandi.
Pick up and Drop off

The Kayamandi on Foot tour starts and ends at the Ikhaya Trust Centre and guests need to arrange their own transport or book a transfer from the Visit Stellenbosch tourism centre at 47 Church Street. Visitors can be collected and taken to the venue. To book this service click here.
